Harlem Is Over: Smart Car Signals the End

And it's over.
This Thursday, parked in all of its eco-sensibility along a row of renovated brownstones leading to Marcus Garvey Park, sat a red Smart Car with total Harlem street pwnage. The fortwo was begging any other vehicle to try and come close. None did.
It's enough to make me pack up my cat, roll down the gate down on this blog, and go home. But I already did! So, it's kinda having the opposite effect, with the gate rolling up and all.

It's so good to read you again! You've been missed. How's Cimbi?

It's alive! Please note that once I moved up to harlem, one of the first things I did was search for and add the feed to your blog.
Is that enough guilt for you?

That car is usually on 110th between Park and Lexington and it confuses everyone in the neighborhood.
I'm REALLY surprised it hasn't been broken into yet.

Why does this mean Harlem is over? What is wrong with people that they see their neighborhood getting nicer and better and all they do is complain about it? I just do not understand. If you can't pay the rent next year, that is a different issue, but rising rents go along with the neighborhood getting better... let those of us who can appreciate a neighborhood that is getting nicer and begginning to have all the amenities that other 'hoods do now, finally.
I am a teacher who moved to Harlem last year so that I could afford my rent. Blogs like this confused the hell out of me. Why is it okay to rave about the new pet store and the new restaurant but then.. oh god.. someone buys an eco-friendly trendy car, and your response is to say, "I'm moving out?"
Can someone please explain the problem here. Or... I'm moving out, Harlem's over!!!!

i dont get it. just because someone decided it was more cost effective to buy a smart car must mean its over for harlem? Should that person have purchased a gas guzzler and then another 10k for some 24" rims!? SMART cars are cheap and are very efficient to get around. But then again you came out of retirement to complain about something so irrelevant. blog about something more important. like your cats or something.

Let's see - a smart car which is cheaper and more fuel efficient than a normal car is a sign of disaster, but any other expensive gas guzzler is cool?
I wouldve been more respectful of your views if you wouldve had the sack to say "White folks get out!" than this nonsense.
