Uptown Veterinary Associates Grand Opening Sunday, November 4th

It's almost as if Drs. Ina Obernesser and Mary Mansfield, the duo behind Uptown Veterinary Associates, read the comments on Harlem Fur.

Ooh! Opening of a vets!? Sounds like my kinda thing.. I haven't hung out with a dog since I got here two months ago.. and I dearly miss my Japanese Akita in Ireland :(
I'm a journalist-- perhaps I could come along and do a little piece on the opening? All I ask in return is a cuddle with a puppy!

I've used Uptown Vets - Dr. Oberness (Uber nice!) spayed my cat. She's so great. Great talking to her, very caring. Highly recommended.

I attended the grand opening, my what a beautiful clinic. I've witnessed Ina doing surgeries and she is just fabulous. Both Drs. are so friendly and knowledgable, I would trust them with any animal.

Very clean office and friendly staff, but less than adequate veterinary practice. They misdiagnosed my cat and requested an exorbitant sum to fix the problem. Second opinion showed they were all wrong.

I'm a new dog owner and was searching for a vet and happened upon Uptown Vets and let me just say....they were wonderful! Dr. Mansfield examined my new "bundle of joy" and she was very friendly, compassionate and patient with me! I had a lot of questions and she explained everything, vaccines, the importance of spaying or neutering(can't remember) and dentistry among other things, in a way that I not only understood but, made sense! They gave me a tour of the hospital and it is soooo clean and beautiful. The staff was also very nice which was just the best because they really relaxed me. Will DEFINITELY use them as my primary vet! Now, if I can just find a human hospital that is comparable.....

I had just moved to Harlem and had the most difficult time finding an affordable catsitter who would come into Harlem (yes, people are still reluctant!!!) to look after my crew when I called Uptown Vet. They recommended several people to me without my being a patient, so, of course, I was intrigued and scheduled an appt. for one of my critters. I have been looking for a new vet for some time now and I just love them. Dr. Obernesser was kind and respectful and treated my elderly kitty-boy with such gentleness and genuine concern. I am so thrilled to have found them and can only recommend Uptown Vet to anyone...in Harlem or not!

I took my Paikea to Uptown Vets recently. She is usually a mess when she goes to her 'regular' vet in Brooklyn. Her Brooklyn vet is great, but the atmosphere is too loud with too many dogs and cats, and since she was a foster there, she does not like going back to Brooklyn at all. Upon Harlem Fur's recommendation (where are you, Chris????), I took her to see Dr. Mansfield. The place was spotless and since it was a Saturday morning, very quiet and peaceful. Paikea was much better than I've ever seen at a vet, and she didn't scream until they took her downstairs for blood. (That's my baby!). The docs from Uptown followed up immediately and gave her a clean bill of health. I have been looking for a great vet since I moved to the lower Bronx. I have my new vet! Thanks!!!
