Tribal Spears To Host Artist/Blacksmith
Tribal Spears Gallery will host Susan Madacsi, artist and blacksmith, this month and next.
Madacsi uses both traditional and contemporary blacksmithing techniques to design and create her pieces in steel, copper, and bronze, which she uses to reveal organic forms. The material is first heated to temperatures of up to 2400 degrees and then worked by hand on the anvil with hammers and other tools. For large-scale forgings, Madacsi works with a power hammer to create the forms.
The opening reception is Saturday, August 18th, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm, with exibition times from 1:00 to 6:00 pm running thru September 16th.

Just noticed that the new wine shop on FD btwn 116th and 117th was opening last Friday - anybody check that joint out? I'm a fan of Harlem Vintage up the street but glad to see more small biz opening up around here as long as the prices are decent. somebody was rehabbing the video game shop on the same block last week but didn't get a chance to ask anyone what was going in there.

wow... how fabulous over there! how many new stores have opened up on the west side of Lenox between 112th and 115th? How many people from 116th to 125th on Lenox will be affected by 112th to 115th?
