Some Of The Harlem News That's Fit To Click: US Open! (Somewhat)

CB9_redicpeople.jpgWhat I missed yesterday: An opinion piece by Harlem-born writer Errol Louis about the strange, childish behavior of Columbia protesters at this month's CB9 meeting. [Daily News]

Bonus: the YouTube video Louis talks about. The feature allowing me to embed the video was turned off by the person who uploaded it, so you will have to click through.

Anyway, on to today's news...

US Open! US Open! US Open! James Blake, who started playing in Harlem, beats beats Frenchman Fabrice Santoro. Santoro probably rides scooter to private location, weeps softly while eating baguette. [Times]

Key part of Mayor Bloomberg's anti-poverty plan now rests with Congressman Charlie Rangel. [Sun]

Couldn't the funeral have been held at one of the 7 other churches that I am sure are on that same block?

how this as a solution.

Columbia can secure several acres of land outside of Bombay, Bangalore, Calcutta, where in India and basically build the same research facility, the entire project should be outsourced to India, students and all.

Why Not? The loud mouth residents who 50% are on public assistance can't bitch, Columbia research and expansion moves forward at a fraction of the cost. Everybody wins! (except Harlem real estate values).

In fact, why stop here? I say outsource public assistance and housing. I would love to relocate the fine people in the public projects to Calcutta and the like, that's okay with me.

Unbelievable. These people should shut up and be grateful that jobs are moving into the community.
