Welcome To Harlem Fur
Cheryl and I are starting this blog basically because our parents live outside of New York and have a hard time opening attachments. We recently purchased a Co-Op in Harlem and want to keep them updated on the changes to our place, using as many photos as possible. Plus, we plan to get a pet dog for our cat and thought it would be fun to share the adventure.
However, it seems many more people than just our parents are curious about Harlem.
A friend pointed out a post on Curbed a week and a half ago about which Harlem avenues are coming up the quickest, which has generated an insane 216 comments. It was followed up the next day by a posting on rising Co-Op and Condo prices in Upper Manhattan that generated what in comparison is only a fair showing, 64 comments.
Although weaker in the comments department than the first posting, the second posting introduced us to neighbor Joe Schumachers blog and Uptown flavor. (Yes, we had been reading Bagel In Harlem since the New York Times Real Estate section article a month ago.)
So, until this blog, the greatest online contribution I made to the ongoing discussion about Harlem was this posting on Garbage Scout earlier today. However, compare it to the other trash posted on the site, it is a solid core door in great shape with all of the original hardware. Even in the trash department, Harlem has great things to offer.
